Chiropractic Medicine

Dr. Marian has received extensive amount of education and training in order to become a lisensed Chiropractic Physician.  Today, a Chiropractic Physican has to have a Bachelor of Science degree before entering a chiropractic college. Not many people realize that in addition to a bachelor degree, a chiropractor must master 4 years of chiropractic college education to become licensed and practice. While in chiropractic college the student must master over a year in human anatomy where actual cadavers are completely dissected by the student! In fact, the same anatomy professors that teach the chiropractic student at National University of Health Science(formerly National College of Chiropractic) in Lombard, teach the medical students at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition, the chiropractic student takes classes in biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, pathology, radiology, physical therapy modalities, rehabilitation exercise design, herbal and vitamin sciences, and of course the art and science of chiropractic manipulations!

Since graduation, Dr. Marian has performed thousands of chiropractic manipulations in her career. The purpose of the manipulation is to restore normal joint function.  Dr. Marian utilizes the chiropractic manipulation techniques: Cox Flexion/Distraction, Thompson Drop-table, Diversified, and Activator.

Chiropractic adjustments have been a natural and effective treatment for many health problems for over 100 Years. Chiropractors help millions of people including many professional athletes and movie stars.  Dr. Marian has become pro-active in mainstreaming the general public to remain healthy and pain-free naturally.

In the state of Illinois and like most states, a chiropractic physician's license allows the Doctor of Chiropractic to treat patient heath issues without the use of prescription medication or surgery.  As a result, most "mixer" chiropractors will help the patient obtain their overall wellness in order to achieve optimum health.  "Mixer" chiropractors do not just use the chiropractic manipulation as their only tool to help a patient become pain-free and healthy.  "Mixer" chiropractors can utilize all or some of the following adjunct tools for patient care:  manual therapy, therapeutic massage, physical therapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, rehab exericise, supplements, etc.  "Straight" chiropractors have a different philosopy in that they tend to just focus on spinal manipulation only rather then using other natural or physical medicine techniques along with the chiropractic manipulation.

Back Surgery: Too Many, Too Costly and Too Ineffective

“Chiropractic manipulations also called "adjustments" help to restore the body to its natural state for optimal health.”
